Low Fat Low Carb Diet :

Diets in low carbohydrates and diets low in fats are becoming increasingly popular. However, a recent trend is to cut both carbohydrates and fats out of one’s diet. The result can be effective, but there can be some certain unfavorable side effects that should be taken into effect.

Diets low in carbohydrates often will see better results faster, and requires less of a strict diet. It is unknown why this is true, but studies do in fact show this to be true. This process includes limited carbohydrates found in grains, fruits, and sugars- such as the Atkins diet or South Beach diet.  These diets are usually used among diabetics to help circumvent diabetes- but it is also used among dieters who want to see effects without cutting carbohydrates from their diet.

Diets low in fats generally must be stricter than low carbohydrate diets. This is the process of limiting fats, such as in the Weight Watchers diet. Fats in food often make one feel full, and less hungry. The problem with this diet is that dieters will often feel hungry again after a meal. For instance, this explains why salads are much less filling than a steak. The process of limiting fats is extremely beneficial, however, and has even been used to circumvent serious illnesses.

Combing the two diets is rather risky. For energy, the body uses two main sources: fat and carbohydrates. If one were to remove both sources of energy- the body would of course have to tap into reserved fats or carbohydrates. While this might work for a short period of time, it would eventually lead to malnutrition or serious illnesses- both physical and psychological. For this reason, most people will choose one diet or the other- and not both. In many respects, this is the same as starving one’s self, albeit there might actually be food being eaten.

In the end, it comes down to a single decision. It will require one diet or the other, unless a doctor monitors your progress. If both diets are undertaken, it should be reported to a doctor so that health issues will not arise if they are foreseen. Most dieters opt for the low carbohydrate plan, as it seems to be more effective. This is purely up to debate and personal decision. It should be noted that extreme weight loss should not be a goal of a dieter, but rather weight loss over a period of time- so both diets are not needed to aid in the process.
